Silver cross decorated with jet called the Victory Cross, or also known as the Cross of the Angels, is a historical symbol associated with the Kingdom of Asturias in the 8th century. Associated with the victory in the Battle of Covadonga, it represents the Christian faith and the beginning of the Reconquest in the Iberian Peninsula. This goldsmith's cross has the shape of a Latin cross with religious and military elements, housing a figure of crucified Christ and representations of evangelists. Currently the original cross is preserved in the Holy Chamber of the Cathedral of Oviedo.
