French Fourvière letter opener with mother-of-pearl compatible blade and neo-medieval inspired metal handle. The mount depicts an armed figure with a helmet, vegetal scrollwork, and architectural reliefs, while the inscription "FOURVIERE" links the piece to Lyon's religious and tourist site.

Its shape, a small ornamental dagger, reflects the historicist taste applied to travel souvenirs and desk objects between the late 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century. The handle appears to be made by casting, with partially worn gold and silver finishes that reveal a dark patina in the recesses. Attribution to France and dating between 1900 and 1930 are probable; no hallmarks or manufacturer's mark are observed.
