This antique medal from 1931, made of gilded silver, corresponding to the Coupe de la Ville de Namur (Belgium), for the senior eight-oared rowing competition, is signed by H. Gérard, a renowned medalist, and features an Art Nouveau-inspired design, with an allegorical female figure accompanied by a winged lion in relief of great plastic force.
The obverse features the official inscription with the coat of arms of Namur, while the reverse highlights the allegorical scene, highly representative of late modernist taste.
