Art Nouveau hanging coin purse in silver and engraved with plant motifs ca. 1900

Out of stock

Antique engraved silver pendant purse, made around 1900 in the Art Nouveau style. The piece features a vertical design with embossed decoration of flowers, ears of wheat, and intertwined ribbons, with stylized plant motifs. The top ring allows it to be worn as a pendant or as part of a chatelaine. It houses the automatic opening button.

The interior houses two circular compartments with swivel clasps, used for storing coins. It retains the embossed PATENT ANGM mark, a trademark registered by some European manufacturers since the early 20th century, suggesting European craftsmanship in sterling silver.

A functional and decorative item, highly valued in the personal accessories collection of the time. This type of purse was common in the attire of bourgeois ladies, both as a fashion accessory and for everyday use.
