Vintage silver pillbox with a green stone carved scarab, 1970s–1980s.

Vintage silver pillbox with a green stone carved scarab, 1970s–1980s.

Out of stock

Vintage Egyptian style box, probably made between the 1970s and 1980s, made of silver and decorated with a scarab carved from green stone.

The piece has a circular and compact shape. The top lid slides sideways to open the inner compartment, which retains its original function. The scarab is finely carved and mounted on a relief cabochon, which serves as an ornamental finial and evokes symbolic motifs from Egyptian iconography. Despite its period of production, its aesthetic evokes the tradition of Western Egyptology, which has resurfaced in various waves over time.
