The observed hallmark, consisting of G – cross – G, is compatible with that documented for Georges Gallois, a silversmith established at 24 rue de la Paix, Paris, whose mark with the initials G G and a Saint-Louis cross is recorded between 1908 and 1927. The year 1913 is fully consistent with that period of activity. The attribution to Gallois remains, however, as compatible and not as an absolute identification of the maker, as no other hallmark was observed to confirm it independently.
